Elimi Tut Dedim Sana - Güner Künier (2022)

This song started obsessing me during Summer 2023 and it has became my favorite earworm eversince (even if I unfortunately don't speak Turkish). According to Boogie Drugstore, Güner Künier was born in Izmir and she moved to Germany with her family when she was 3. She studied engineering in Berlin before becoming an actress and a musician and starting her solo music project around 2020. Her music is a wonderful blend between synthpop, post-punk and riot grrrl anthems. "Elimi Tut Dedim Sana" is both bouncy and corrosive and it is the perfect soundtrack to a walk under the blazing sun while carefully avoiding looking other people in the eyes. Günier Künier's music reminds me a lot of Laura Krieg's Vie Magique (Detriti, 2021) and I was not suprised to read that Günier admired her work as she said in this interview. Ce morceau a commencé à m'obséder pendant l'été 2023 et il est devenu mon ver d'oreille favori depuis cette période (même si je ne parle malheureusement pas le turc). Selon Boogie Drugstore, Güner Künier est née à Izmir et a déménagé en Allemagne avec sa famille quand elle avait 3 ans. Elle a étudié l'ingénierie à Berlin avant de devenir actrice et musicienne puis de débuter son projet musical solo autour de 2020. Sa musique est un mélange génial entre synthpop, post-punk et hymnes riot grrrl. "Elimi Tut Dedim Sana" est à la fois entraînant et corrosif — il s'agit de la bande-son idéale pour faire une promenade sous le soleil brûlant, en évitant soigneusement de regarder les gens dans les yeux. La musique de Güner Künier me rappelle beaucoup Vie Magique de Laura Krieg (Detriti, 2021) et je n'ai pas été surprise de lire que Günier admire beaucoup son travail, comme elle l'a énoncé dans cette interview.
